nK007 : Timmy Tapeworm - Photo Graphic

A collection of collaged file formats via Audacity.

From the artist:

I imported various file types, mainly design files (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, some font & brush files), as raw data in Audacity. The result is like an aural form of binary (hearing what the computer is reading). I would collage segments until I found something I liked - repeating patterns I heard, or finding a sound I liked and creating a pattern from that. I even tried altering the design files with themselves (say, importing additional Illustrator of PhotoShop files into InDesign, or playing with the layers of said files).

I continued this process - combining earlier collages with each other, importing the resulting Aud files (is to Audacity as a PSD file is to PhotoShop) and backup data - creating something like a snake eating it's own tail. A collage that, in many ways, collages itself.

What made this release more than a basic "desktopcore" release is that I wasn't looking to simply release the "cool sounds" I was finding through experimentation, but that I was looking to create something of my own through these sounds.
